Academic Standards & Regulations


Every student is responsible for reading up on the policies and regulations of the University and the Graduate School and the requirements of their own academic program.

The faculty and administration will assist a student whenever possible, but waivers and exceptions will not be granted because a student claims information was not provided by an advisor.

Southern Connecticut State University, through its offices and/or appropriate committees, may suspend or dismiss any student from the University for reasons of scholarship, aptitude, conduct, or health.

Students are also responsible for reading up on state and federal requirements for professional certifications.
