Jesse Raccio is a bassist and composer whose diverse background includes playing and writing opera, orchestral music, chamber music, jazz and musical theater. His music has been performed on stages in London and Edinburgh, has toured France and has been performed throughout the Northeast United States. His opera Beowulf was performed as part of the 2010 London alternative fringe at the Bridewell Theater. He has worked with Olivier award winning Opera-up-close on an arrangement of Leoncavallo's Pagliacci. Jesse has been featured with regularity on the programs of Scotland's Red Note Ensemble. He continues to work as the in-house composer for the Finger in the Pie theater company of London where he develops music for devised theater productions.
Jesse is a founding member and executive director of the New York based Source to Sound Collective, a group of musicians and composers dedicated to the performance of music both new and old. He was featured on their recent program at the Orchestra of St. Luke's DiMenna Center for Classical Music in Manhattan.
As a bassist, Jesse has performed internationally in orchestras, musicals, and in the jazz duo 2blacksuits.
