General Management Concentration

The general management specialization allows students to maximize their flexibility rather than focusing on one functional specialization within business administration (accounting, marketing, finance, etc.). Management students obtain foundation knowledge and skills that are suitable for operating a small business, or for advancing into a wide variety of middle and upper level management positions in a broad range of organizations (private firms, public corporations, non-profits, government agencies, etc.).

By highlighting successful organizational processes and practices, this major helps students understand a wide variety of managerial concerns, and the analytical and administrative techniques commonly used to address them. The focus of the major is more than merely learning management theory, it is applying that theory in the real world to change organizations for the better.
