Accelerated MBA Program
Southern Connecticut State University School of Business launched the Accelerated MBA (AMBA) program in Fall 2014. This all-inclusive, fast-track, hybrid style MBA option combines quality, convenience, and affordability for the region’s working professionals.
The all-inclusive program costs include tuition, books, materials, breakfast and lunch for the in-class Saturday sessions.
The fast-track 18 month program bypasses a traditional semester structure. Each cohort (program set) comprises of nine sessions with each session lasting eight weeks, with a one week break between each session. During each eight-week session, students will complete two courses for six (6) credits, for a full-time course load of 12 credits per semester.
Classes are in hybrid format; the coursework is online with four Saturday in-class meetings per session. The last eight-week session will be devoted to the completion of MBA 595 (Special Project).
The pilot cohort (Cohort I) began in August 2014 and will finish in January 2016. The current cohort (Cohort II) started in September 2015 and are on track to finish in February 2017. The next cohort (Cohort III) will begin in August 2016.
Prospective students will meet the same standards for admission as in the traditional MBA program.
