Department of World Language and Literatures at Southern Connecticut State University is seeking to fill two emergency sabbatical leave replacement positions in Spanish. The successful candidates will teach 24 credits per year of basic Spanish language and courses in Latin American civilization, Spanish American literature, and/or the candidate's field of specialization. The successful candidates may also be required to advise majors and minors, and interview students to determine their linguistic proficiency. Duties/Responsibilities will include service to the Spanish Program. Term of appointment: Fall 2014-Spring 2015.
PhD or ABD in Spanish with a concentration in Latin American literature or Latin American Studies; college-level teaching experience; ability to teach Spanish at all levels; ability to teach Latin American civilization classes; ability to teach Latin American literature. Experience teaching film and familiarity with the Silent Way are highly desirable.
