University Registrar

Southern Connecticut State University seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its Registrar. Founded as a teachers college in 1893, Southern has evolved over the past century into a comprehensive university offering 114 graduate and undergraduate programs in the liberal arts and professional disciplines. The University is located in New Haven, a city rich with arts and culture, and less than 90 miles from New York City and 140 miles from Boston.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Registrar is responsible for all functions and services related to the registration and graduation of students.  Working closely with the Enrollment Management Council, the Registrar is part of a collaborative team responsible for ensuring enrollment goals are met, consistent with the University Strategic Plan and System priorities. The Registrar is also responsible for supervising a substantial staff of both professional and clerical employees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a student-centered culture within the Registrar's Office, supervising the registration of continuing and incoming students, evaluating credits toward degree completion, and other related duties and responsibilities.

A master's degree and five years of experience in higher education administration, including three years in a records' office, are required. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate the ability to formulate and implement relevant policy, oversee daily operations and supervise staff. Knowledge of an integrated database, preferably Banner, also required. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
