The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible to the Director of Graduate Admissions and assists the Director in advancing the graduate admission program of the University. Responsible for assisting in the identification, recruitment, selection and enrollment of new students.
Assists the director in establishing a student-centered, goal-oriented culture within the Graduate Admissions Office.
Assists the Director in developing, implementing, and assessing successful marketing, recruitment, and admission strategies and processes to ensure new graduate student enrollment goals are met.
Assists the Director in monitoring progress toward new graduate student enrollment goals via statistical reports and data analysis, and appropriate and timely sharing of the information with the University community to ensure a climate of collaborative and accountable enrollment planning and management.
Helps implement and assess an effective and targeted outreach program by working with academic departments and graduate coordinators to identify appropriate recruitment venues.
Assists in developing and assessing on-campus recruitment programs to promote the University to prospective students and external constituents, including the local and regional community. .
Helps coordinate admissions operations, workflow, practices and policies related to the selection and evaluation of all applicants for graduate admission.
Helps facilitate the development of meaningful partnerships with area employers, K-12 school districts, and ConnSCU institutions.
Recommends to the Director possible changes to the policies and procedures for graduate admission that reflect best practices in the field of graduate admissions.
Engages in travel to recruit graduate students.
Evaluates graduate student applicants' transcripts in relation to graduate studies policies for admission to the School of Graduate Studies.
Responsible for participation in special projects that support the identification and the enrollment of graduate students, i.e. Graduate Student Open House, and other activities related to graduate recruitment.
Responsible for the operation, upgrading, testing and implementation of the Banner Student Module and subsequent enhancements as it relates to Graduate Admissions including BrioQuery reports.
Serves as the graduate admissions liaison to the Banner Steering Committee.
Responsible for writing and maintaining documentation for the Graduate Admission Process including data entry of applications, report generation, online application processing and letter generation.
Assists in developing and maintaining all marketing and promotional materials related to Graduate Admission.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.
A Bachelor's degree is required; Three years of experience in admissions work preferably in graduate admissions. A Master's degree is preferred. Knowledge of SCT Banner Software systems. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
