"The support of alumni has been pivotal to my success as a student, greatly reducing my financial burden. As a result, I was able to pursue various fieldwork experiences, research projects, and even a semester-long internship. During my sophomore year, I studied abroad in Jamaica, visiting local schools in the Montego Bay area and evaluating the differences and similarities between the educational systems in Jamaica and the United States. My undergraduate years at Southern have been rich with extracurricular service and leadership experiences, and I am incredibly grateful to alumni like you who have made it all possible."
