Records & Information Management in Higher Education
Both public and private higher education institutions face similar records and information management issues arising from organizational infrastructure, policies and procedures, risk management, and litigation strategies as well as from government, legislative, and agency compliance requirements.
Colleges and universities produce and disseminate enormous amounts of records and
information from faculty, students, and staff. Managing this large quantity of various
types and formats of information in a timely and secure manner is one of the challenges
of higher education records and information management.
