Accounts and Email

Accounts

At SCSU, you have access to multiple accounts. Your MySCSU (university portal) account and Windows (computer) account use different passwords.  Windows has an online form that makes it easy for you to unlock or reset your password at any time.  MySCSU password resets, however, can only be performed by IT Help Desk staff. You can find consultants to reset your MySCSU password in OB1, Jennings 130, Buley 409, or DA 220A.


Email

As a student of Southern Connecticut State University, you were given an email account at the time of your admission to the unviersity. You may access your emails via the university portal, MySCSU. As a new faculty or staff member, you will be given an email account on the Exchange system. You can choose among several methods to access your email.  Your email address is your Windows/MySCSU username@southernct.edu.

Important: Southern Connecticut State University provides students, faculty, and staff with SCSU email addresses, which most academic and administrative offices use to send you messages. If you choose to forward this address to a non-SCSU account (e.g., Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo!), the Help Desk will not be able to help you with problems concerning that account. More importantly, if this forwarding fails for any reason, you may miss important official communications sent to your SCSU address for which you are still responsible.
