The Career Services department, located in the Wintergreen Building, would like to join with you to help you discover and fulfill your career aspirations. We offer a comprehensive array of services both at the center and online, delivered by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Each student receives a customized experience by working with the staff to address his or her individual needs. Whether you are meeting with a career counselor or visiting us on our Web site, the staff is available to assist you with all aspects of your career journey.

undergraduate commencementOne-on-One Appointments offer the most customized experience, allowing you the opportunity to meet with a career counselor to discuss any career related issue. Please contact our office to make an appointment.

Quick Question Hours also offer the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a career counselor for a brief consultation without an appointment.

The Computer Lab and Resource Library includes traditional and multi-media resources for all stages of career development, from choosing a major to conducting a job search.

FOCUS is a Web-based self-assessment tool designed to assist students in finding possible majors or career paths. It is strongly recommended that students use FOCUS in conjunction with a career counseling appointment.

Career Advising Handbook- Whether you are a freshman or a senior the Career Services Handbook will help you navigate your journey from college to career.  Use the Four Year Career Planning Guide to stay on track with career planning activities such as choosing a major, getting career related experience with co-ops or internships, and beginning your first professional job search.  In addition, you will find a 5 step plan to help you choose a major, tips to help you with your job search, interviewing strategies, and samples to help you with creating your resume, cover letter, and post interview thank you letters.  This Handbook is designed specifically to address the unique needs of Southern students.  Get started with the Handbook today, and follow up with an individual appointment with a career counselor.
