The Theatre Department’s mission is to provide comprehensive theatre training of the highest quality, to foster students’ personal and artistic development, and to emphasize experiential learning and access to the profession.

Our programs offer opportunities for students to engage in every facet of theater from page to stage. Student-focused, hands-on coursework in the Theatre Department encompasses all the arts — literary, performing, visual, digital, and electronic.
Auditions are now open for the Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 season, offering a range of opportunities for performers to participate in upcoming productions.
All students are welcome to work on Theatre Department productions. Opportunities are available for shop work and on-performance running crews in all areas.
It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to participate in the SCSU Theatre community. The energy present in the halls of The Lyman Center for the Performing Arts is artistically inspiring with its buzz of creativity burgeoning through its atmosphere.
