Honors College for New or Interested Students

We know that applying to colleges can be intimidating. The SCSU Honors College provides safe spaces to grow academically, personally, and professionally. Our engaged and accessible faculty from various disciplines will support ypaou through your collegiate journey and prepare you for the job market and/or graduate/professional studies. All majors qualify to join the Honors College.  

Honors College students

The Honors College requires no additional classes. Instead, our curriculum is tailored to your unique interests and skills and can be completed in 4 years or less. Additionally, every incoming Honors College student receives generous scholarship support each semester of their undergraduate journey. Paired with customized classes and attentive and knowledgeable faculty, SCSU Honors College students receive holistic support from their first day of classes to graduation and beyond. 

As an Honors College student, you will be part of a community of creative, inquisitive, and critical thinkers who support each other in the classroom, in on-campus clubs and activities, and at events throughout the state.

Application Timeline

January 6, 2025

The Honors College application for 1st year and transfer students for Fall 2025 is due. Applications received after the deadline are part of the 2nd round of evaluations. If openings remain after the conclusion of the first round of evaluations in March, we will go to second-round applicants to fill any remaining openings for admission to the Honors College and consideration for the Presidential Merit Scholarship for Fall 2025. 

February 3, 2025

By this date, those who meet the initial application deadline will be notified of the status of their application.
