SCSU sent a delegation of international students and study abroad alumni to Washington D.C. for NAFSA Advocacy Day 2016.

While there, these students met with Connecticut representatives, and presented their case for immigration reform and the end of the U.S. embargo on Cuba.

"On March 15, 2016, after a day of
training and strategizing... [t]hey educated their members of
Congress on how international
education impacts their states
and districts and why we need
a more welcoming and globally engaged United States. They also urged for their support for ending the U.S. embargo on Cuba."
