The minor in Adapted Physical Activity and Sport serves students interested in working with individuals with disabilities in physically active environments and the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively plan, lead and evaluate physical activity programs that meet the participants' varying needs and interests. An emphasis will be placed on motor functioning, activity, and sport modifications and adaptations.
This 19-credit interdisciplinary program combines the expertise of the Department of Health and Movement Sciences and the Department of Recreation, Tourism and Management's Therapeutic Recreation program.
