The School Health Education minor develops the skills, knowledge, and understanding to implement health education programs, particularly in a public school setting. The program offers students in an education major the opportunity to earn credits in school health education to earn a cross-endorsement in school health education from the State Department of Education.
Although this minor focuses on enabling future teachers to provide health education in the school setting, successful completion will give students skills and information that can be applied in a variety of settings including community health, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations.
