Enrolling in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program

Interdisciplinary Studies is a great way to build your own concentration and tailor your coursework toward a rewarding career of your choosing. In order to enroll in the program please follow the steps below:

  1. Attend a Pre-Advising Workshop
    We offer students interested in the Interdisciplinary Studies major an opportunity to learn more about the program and requirements. Please see our homepage for a link to the updated list of workshops offered, their times, and locations, or you can contact to set up an pre-advising workshop appointment.

  2. Meet with an Interdisciplinary Studies Academic Advisor
    Set up an appointment with an Interdisciplinary Studies Academic Advisor who can work with you to develop a unique IDS program that will help you met your academic, personal and career goals. Advisors are assigned alphabetically by the student’s last name. Your advisor and corresponding contact information is identified here: Who's My Advisor?

  3. Complete an IDS Official Application
    Complete the application to join the Interdisciplinary Studies major: IDS Application

  4. Complete a Selection of Degree form
    Complete the Selection of Degree form: Online Selection of Degree Form (Note this cannot be completed until after you have met with an IDS advisor)

    Be advised that students should declare their intent to pursue a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies degree program as Freshmen or Sophomores. Students who enter the B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies degree program with more than 60 credits (75 credits for transfer students) are advised that more than 120 credits may be required to complete the degree.
