Graduate students can earn an M.S. in mathematics education, an M.S. in mathematics
education with certification, or a secondary school mathematics teacher certification.

General Graduate Program Outcomes
It is expected that each graduate student in mathematics will be able to: (1) Achieve
mastery of a rich and diverse set of mathematical ideas. (2) Use acquired mathematical
skills to undertake independent learning and to be a contributing member of a problem
solving team. (3) Demonstrate the ability to write mathematical proofs. (4) Communicate
effectively and explain mathematics both verbally and in writing. (5) Utilize appropriate
technology to develop models for solving problems and analyzing new situations. (6)
Think analytically and critically and be able to formulate problems, solve them, and
interpret their solutions.
