Eligibility: The student(s) must be majoring in Theatre, English Education or Elementary Ed.
The Angelina Porto Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Andrew C. Porto in memory of his sister. Angelina was the daughter of Italian immigrants who valued education as the key to a better life -- a life not as hard as they had experienced, with hardships, stresses and sacrifices. They vowed that their children should experience more opportunities. They provided a home that met the daily necessities and was full of unconditional love and trust. Experiencing a higher education was a must, no matter. It is requested of the recipients of this scholarship that they someday, when they are financially able, contribute to this fund so that others can benefit as they did. This is not mandatory but would be an appreciated gesture.

Bellmore Family Annual Scholarship
Eligibility: The student(s) must be majoring in Music. This scholarship is renewable; however, recipients MUST re-apply each year.
Roger Bellmore and his wife Sharon established this scholarship to in some small way repay everything Southern has done for our family. I paid my way through SCSU playing in a rock band and played numerous events on campus. Years later my son Charlie graduated with a music degree from Southern. He attributes much of his success as a professional musician to lessons learned there. Charlie and his brother Nick tour the world living their dream and we hope this scholarship helps many more musicians pursue theirs.
