POSITION SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Bursar and is responsible for the Cash Management operation of the Business Office. The position is responsible for the daily deposits, research involved in resolving students accounts issues, bad checks, credit card mispayments and other misapplication of monies to students accounts.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all aspects of cash management, including the coordination of training of departmental deposit procedures for University Officer.

Responsible for the daily bank deposit and working with University Accounting on bank reconciliation issues.

Assists with the implementation and setup of e-commerce (online stores) for University departments.

Researches issues related to bad checks, incorrect application of payments, and credit card issues.

Responsible for the electronic payment gateway daily reconciliation and reports.

Coordinate cashiering scheduled and coverage; may supervise clerical staff /cashiers.

Maintains and verifies all cash drawers daily.

Recommends the establishment and is then responsible for implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to cash collections and deposits for student groups and organizations.

Performs other duties related to those enumerated above that do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required. .Minimum of three years of experience in cash management operations, relevant financial analysis and experience with ERP systems (Banner) and/or cashiering systems/software, and PC applications. Experience in a banking or business financial environment preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. An MBA or Master's degree in accounting/finance is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.

These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
