CSU Administrative Assistant

This position reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, supervises support staff and performs a wide variety of administrative support functions in a university setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is expected to represent the Vice President for Institutional Advancement in a highly courteous and tactful manner and maintain strictest confidence. The incumbent must be able to perform a range of technical and professional level duties that include office management; compiling complex data and preparing reports; contacting and receiving high level officials; preparing correspondence for own signature or the signature of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement; revisions/updating policies and procedures, organizing and maintaining confidential records; supervising, training and work direction of assigned support staff; making travel arrangements and completing reimbursement forms, scheduling meetings and arrangements for various board and committee meetings which include preparing meeting materials and drafting meeting minutes.

QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates ability to produce quality materials, technology skilled on the computer and associated software; demonstrated ability to meet personally with a variety of people as a representative of the university; ability to oversee or direct the work of office staff; strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly and efficient office operation. These skills and abilities are normally acquired through a combination of experience and training in a professionally-oriented office setting of at least five years. Strong writing skills are needed for this position. Proficient with Microsoft Office and knowledge of Raiser's Edge is a plus. Work experience in development or higher education is preferred. A college degree is a plus.
