At the end of the spring semester, undergraduate students who have performed with distinction in scholarship, leadership, and service to the university are accorded special recognition at the university's Senior Honors Convocation.

Location: Lyman Center for the Performing Arts, Southern Connecticut State University
Light refreshments will follow the ceremony in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom.
Invitations to this ceremony will be emailed to eligible students at the end of March 2025.

Please note: If you did not receive an RSVP email for the convocation, you are not eligible to RSVP for the event. Only students who have been nominated by their department for an award and invited to the convocation are able to attend.
This invitation is separate from the Latin Awards Cord Distribution Event.
Parking and Shuttles
Students and their guests may park in the Wintergreen Avenue Garage for Senior Honors Convocation. For GPS purposes, the address of the Wintergreen Garage is 23 Wintergreen Avenue, New Haven, CT.
Students must report to the main level rotunda area of Engleman Hall for check-in between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. For convenience, shuttle service is provided according to the following schedule.
12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Shuttles will loop between the following locations:
Wintergreen Avenue Garage - Shuttle Stop
Lyman Center Entrance
End of the Ceremony until 5:30 p.m.

Latin Honors Cords
Why are Latin Honors cords no longer being distributed at the Senior Honors Convocation?
This year, the Senior Honors Convocation Committee, in consultation with Administration, made the decision to adjust the process for a number of logistical and planning reasons. As a result, Latin Honors cords will no longer be distributed at the Convocation.
When and where can I pick up my Latin Honors cord?
To honor your success, we invite you to pick up your honors cord at one of the following times and locations:
- Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Location: Academic Quad
- Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location: Buley Library Lower Patio
If you cannot make it during these event dates, cords will also be available:
- In the Registrar’s Office (starting May 7, 2025)
- At Commencement Check-in
What do I need to bring to pick up my cord?
You will need to present a valid photo ID (e.g., student ID, driver’s license, or passport) when picking up your Latin Honors cord.
