On September 27, 2024 we welcomed three new Pathway 1 undergraduate math and science scholars (Julia Grant, Emily Jasinki, and Aiden Kennedy) and three Pathway 2 MAT stipend recipients (Alexandra Lindgren, Julie Reynolds, and Zaya Powell) with our first Noyce Signing event! This Signing Day ceremony, not unlike when collegiate or professional athletes sign a contract with their new sports team, was a time to recognize and honor the accomplishments of these outstanding students and the transformative impact they will have on STEM education in Connecticut. As each Scholar was called up to “sign” their Noyce contract, their biographies were read aloud to event attendees. After signing, they received their “team jersey” and were congratulated by SCSU’s Interim President, Dr. Dwayne Smith. They also posed for LOTS of pictures, which were shared widely on social media and can be seen below.
