Champion swimmer Michael Phelps is the most successful and decorated Olympian of all time, having won 28 career medals. These include 23 gold, highlighted by a world record eight gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Phelps competed in his first Olympics in 2000 in Sydney at age 15, and retired from professional competition after winning five golds and one silver at his 5th Olympics in Rio de Janerio in 2016.
After the 2008 Olympics, Phelps established the Michael Phelps Foundation, which focuses on growing the sport of swimming and promoting healthier lifestyles. He has also become prominent spokesperson for mental health awareness and support.
During a moderated conversation with noted sports journalist Kate Fagan, Phelps will speak about his incredible life journey and sacrifices he made to reach the top of the sports world as well as the difficult personal challenges that confronted him along the way.
