The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies’ (EDL) Ed.D. Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership prepares educational leaders, researchers, and policy makers in its 4-year, cohort-based program geared toward the working professional.
Graduates of our program assume prominent positions of leadership in public and private school systems and research and policy organizations in Connecticut, nationally, and throughout the world.
The program offers two concentrations:
- a “General” concentration through which students craft a unique program of study to suit their particular professional interest in K-12 or higher education leadership, education research, education policy, or other education-related areas,
- an 092 Connecticut Intermediate Administrator Certification concentration through which students are certified to serve as building-level leaders in the State of Connecticut.
Students admitted to this program are provided a cohort model, rigorous face-to-face and hybrid courses, field-based leadership and research experiences, personalized faculty advisement, classes one night per week, online and campus-based supports/resources, opportunities to publish and present research, and access to professional organizations and networks intended for this most advanced level of study.
