Exciting Opportunities Ahead!

Summer 2024 Engineering Internship Opportunity:

Bell Power Systems, a local diesel engine VAP located in Essex, CT, is currently hiring an engineering student intern for its product validation department this summer.

This position will give a broad exposure to the full range of engineering functions performed on the industrial side of its product offering for both Yanmar and John Deere engines, including package design, OEM design support, in-house product validation, and on-site testing.  Primarily, the intern will work with Jacob Hulinsky and other test engineers to support the validation of engine applications.  Interested students should contact Lori Winiarski: Lori.Winiarski@bellpower.com

BioPath Research Fellowship:  

Don't miss out on the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, a transformative opportunity for students to develop technical, soft skills, and content knowledge beyond the classroom, preparing them for internships and future employment. This competitive program offers 8 students an 8-week summer research experience, a crucial aspect of undergraduate education, particularly in STEM fields. Research fellows will work closely with faculty mentors at SCSU.

Physics Dept. Spring Gathering:

The Physics Department will host a spring get-together on May 2, 2:30-5pm, during which our Earth Science friends will be invited to celebrate our new joint minor in Astronomy.  Weather permitting it will be held outdoors in the Science Quad (in ASL lower-level atrium if it rains).  Food will be provided.  Please bring your frisbees and yard games

Biology Research Symposium:

Join us for the Biology Research Symposium where students will showcase their findings through poster and research presentations. This session is open to all Southern students and faculty.

SCSU Hosted Quantum CT Public Awareness Event:

QuantumCT is a public-private partnership accelerating the adoption of quantum technologies in Connecticut and beyond.  The event entitled Imagining A Quantum Future: New Haven will take place on May 6, in the SCSU Adanti Student Center from 8-11am – to register online and view the entire program: link
