Students who are interested in pre-health fields should carefully consider whether or not this degree will meet all of the requirements for graduate studies and graduate entrance exams before declaring this major.
This program requires students to take a broad survey of upper and lower-level biology courses in molecular, ecological, animal, and plant areas of study. Students gain hands-on experience and specialize in the topics that interest them most, preparing them for exciting careers in applied biology, biological research, or teaching, as well as for further study in graduate or professional schools.
Students in this program often choose to pursue a minor in Chemistry. This degree requires more cognate chemistry, physics, and math courses than the Biology, B.A. program, but less than the Biotechnology, B.S. program.
