First Responder Training In Autism

Autism Training for First Responders: Online and Certified Program

The Center of Excellence on Autism Spectrum Disorders has developed a specialized Autism training program for First Responders. This training is certified by OEMS (Office of Emergency Medical Services) and provides 2 CME credits for completing the 2-hour online course. The course is open to all first responders, regardless of certification level, including EMTs, paramedics, emergency medical responders (EMRs), and even parents.

Key Features of the Training:

Self-paced and Virtual: The entire course is fully virtual, allowing you to complete it at your own pace.

Video and reading materials covering strategies and tips for working with individuals with autism during emergency situations.

Once registered, you will receive an email with a link to a TEAMS group where the training materials are housed.

Certification:

After completing the training materials, you'll take a short quiz to test your understanding.

Upon passing, you'll receive a certificate of completion and CME credits for your professional development.
