- SED 514 – Transition within Disabilities Services (Varying modalities)
- SED 517 – Intro to Assistive Technology (Online – Synchronous)
- SED 531 – Research in Special Education (Varying modalities)
- SED 605 – Analyzing Community Special Education (Capstone, Online Synchronous)
In addition to these core courses, you can customize your learning experience with electives in areas such as Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities, Adaptive Technology, and Learning Disabilities. For educators seeking to meet the Connecticut cross-certification state requirements for PreK-12 #165 special education certification, our program offers a comprehensive cross-endorsement track. This track includes essential courses that cover a wide range of topics, ensuring you are fully prepared to excel in the field:
- SED 527 – Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports
- SED 504 – Curriculum and Planning for Exceptional Learners
- SED 503 – Learning Theory and Development
- SED 505 – Literacy Instruction and Program Planning in Special Education
- SED 521 – Diagnostic Assessment of Exceptional Learners
- SED 605 – Administration and Supervision of Programs for Individuals with Special Needs (Capstone)
Electives for the Cross Endorsement Track include:
