Form I-9 Completion Requirement for New Student Employees
Before you can begin working at SCSU for the first time, you must complete the Form I-9: Employment Eligibility Verification and present your original physical documents for review. Please note that you are only required to complete the Form I-9 for your first job at SCSU.
If you're thinking, "I didn't bring these documents with me," you have a couple of options:
- We recommend arranging for overnight shipping of your documents to expedite the verification process.
- Alternatively, you may wait until you return to campus at the beginning of the semester to bring the necessary documents in person.
Important Information:

All students are required to complete the Form I-9 before their employment start date. You will not be allowed to begin work until Student Employment has received the completed Form I-9.

After accepting your job offer, you will receive detailed instructions for completing and submitting the Form I-9.

Please note: The Form I-9 requires you to present original, unexpired documents to verify your employment eligibility. Photocopies of any List A, List B, or List C documents are not acceptable. For more information on acceptable documents, please refer to this LINK

You are only required to complete the Form I-9 for your first job at SCSU. However, if there is a gap between your undergraduate and graduate enrollment, you will need to complete the Form I-9 again.
